Being Happy & Content (in your job/life) #SFTakeaway

As long as you’re doing what makes you happy and fulfilled … you’re winning
While I was in SF I met people creating and building companies they believed were the best creations ever. They had a purpose with their life and I think its because they were pursuing something they themselves wanted to. It wasn’t because it looked great on paper, or the status or the money.
You won’t get rich fast. The concept of 10,000 hours applies to your career. This is the theory from Malcolm Gladwell’s The Economist.
When I was in San Francisco I met people who didn’t care about labels, luxurious brands or what kind of car they drove. They focused on what it would take to build a solution to a problem society has. They wanted to live a life of constant inspiration and love. The most important part, they weren’t chasing it to get it ASAP. They play the long game and everyday is a step towards it slow and steady.
The feeling of “I need to do a, b, and c” before I do “x, y, and z” is a flawed way I myself used to live by in the past. I will be “happy” or “take that trip” once I achieve “x, y or z”. Life doesn’t and shouldn’t work that way.
Naval - a takeaway from one of my inspirations
“A calm mind, healthy body and a house full of love.”
Dedication, consistency and little increments in the right direction help us get to this point in the long run. The days you don’t feel like running/working out/having the tougher conversations are the days you get incrementally closer. Pour love and care without expecting it back and it will show up in 10X back into your life.
